Babaji's Kriya Yoga 3rd Initiation with Ingvar Villido Ishwarananda, August 12–20 in Lilleoru
Kriya Yoga is an ancient integral system of yoga science, which is practical, based on reality, and suits anyone living in today’s society, regardless of one’s profession, qualification, race or religion.
The word kriya means ’acting with awareness’, i.e. acting in a way where each process is observed, directed, has a specific objective and follows this chosen objective. Babaji's Kriya Yoga system includes in total 144 techniques or kriyas which are transmitted directly from the teacher to the student in the course of three initiations.
In Lilleoru the initiations are conducted by Ingvar Villido, who was initiated in 2007 to become an acharya or a teacher of Babaji’s Kriya Yoga. Then he also received his spiritual name Ishwarananda.
3rd initiation is an intensive week-long retreat to learn and practice advanced techniques that form the final set of the Babaji's Kriya Yoga system.
The 3rd level techniques are also related to opening one’s potentials and attaining self-realization. Practical classes are augmented by lectures which deepen the understanding of Kriya Yoga as a holistic path of development and help one better to understand its goal.
1st initiation is an intensive weekend course, during which you can get acquainted with the 18 Kriya Hatha Yoga postures or asanas, which make the life force (prana) move in the body; learn the powerful breathing technique consisting of 6 phases known as Kriya Kundalini Pranayama, which regulates the subtle energies and awakens the universal life energy; learn seven meditation techniques (dhyana) to master the mind, awareness and intuition.
2nd initiation is an intensive weekend retreat to learn and practice the second set of techniques of the Babaji's Kriya Yoga system: techniques for awakening the energy centres – chakras; the techniques of yogic rest (Yoga Nidra) and yogic silence (Mauna Yoga), in order to replenish and conserve life energy and direct it towards attaining higher levels of consciousness; several pranayamas for healing and balancing; how to integrate awareness into daily activities; an initiation into a personal mantra by the acharya.
Continuous support. After the initiations, it is possible to participate in the monthly seminars (satsangs) with acharya Ishwarananda. At these meetings, people share their experiences related to practice, ask questions and it is possible to specify techniques to ensure you practice them properly.
Awareness is the foundation for the effectual Kriya Yoga practice. That is why it is required to complete the preparatory The Art of Conscious Change I-II courses before the Babaji's Kriya Yoga 1st initiation. Before the initiation, it is also advised to start with Kriya Hatha Yoga lessons.
