Conversations with Ingvar: Power of Will
Surely you have read some of those inspiring stories about people who can do the impossible – move mountains, commit acts of heroism, achieve the goals they have set … Where do they take that power from? This power to will.
Is it an ability to force oneself or to consciously make the right choices while moving towards the chosen goal? What is this power?
For many people, willpower is primarily the ability to cross their teeth and resist temptations. When on a diet, one is familiar with the pull towards the fridge or cake counter … It is a belief that willpower equals self-restraint and tremendous effort. It definitely can’t be anything pleasant! And no wonder people tend to give up and quit moving towards their goal. Repeatedly.
Many give up on their goal already at the first obstacle. Some quit when they encounter criticism, including self-criticism. The few whom life repeatedly tests, but who continue on the chosen path because of their unshakable willpower, will succeed. Those who do not allow themselves to be discouraged by difficulties, but purposefully push towards the goal, will of course achieve it! Those people are called to be strong-willed. By the way, scientists have concluded that willpower can be developed, just as you develop a muscle. Where does your hidden inner strength lie? Where to draw this power from? How to train the will? How to remain determined even if you encounter failures? What all are you actually capable of?
In this conversation, Ingvar Villido will help you find your inner strength and rediscover your strength – the power of will.
