A shared day of caring for a sacred place
Temple is known as a place to come into silence, meditate, or simply pause for a moment. Yet in the ancient yoga traditions, caring for the temple has always also been part of the spiritual path.
When work is done with awareness and presence, even the simplest activity becomes a practice. The hands are working, consciousness becomes calm, and a natural connection begins to arise between the person and the sacred space.
In the Hindu tradition, this is called seva — selfless service offered without personal gain. Not as an obligation, but as an opportunity to contribute to something that carries silence, awareness, and sacredness.
Once a month, we gather in Lilleoru to care together for the Shiva Temple and its surroundings. We do practical work, restore, build, and help keep this place alive together. Everyone can contribute according to their strength and possibilities.
“Work done in a sacred place never goes unnoticed.
It creates a natural connection between the temple and the person.”
