The main house is the center of daily activities. Here you find information, a café and a shop. Courses, lectures and yoga classes take place here and rooms are also rented out for other events.
The building that was completed in 2018 is also unique. It is the largest European straw bale house and a fine example of a natural public building in the world. The whole project was carried out largely with volunteer and community work and with the help of co-financing. A total of 1,100 supporters contributed to it.
Over the years, Lilleoru has become the pioneer of sustainable living in Estonia and a centre of knowledge for permaculture. In July 2018, the European ecovillage conference “The Wisdom of Conscious Communities” was held here with nearly 600 participants from all over the world. We also organize training and workshops here under the guidance of the best experts.
