Ingvar Villido Ishwarananda: “What is the role of ethics in human evolution? Yamas”

Ethics allows you to feel good in your life and at the same time establish good relations with the rest of the world. It is not a philosophical issue but rather a practical compass that points in the right direction providing the basis for distinguishing between right and wrong. The further you advance in your development, the more important it becomes. The more you have been entrusted with, the greater the responsibility.

In yoga, the yamas and niyamas form the bedrock for self-realization. In a nutshell, adhering to these ethical or moral norms enables you to exit regular karmic life. This knowledge is fundamental for every human being wishing to reach enlightenment. Following the framework laid down by the yamas and niyamas – when you really ponder it and comprehend what each and every one of these rules of conduct encompasses, transformation is guaranteed.

Having followed the path of Siddha-yoga for over 30 years, Ingvar has a deep realization of these principles. In his March lecture he uncovers the true nature of yamas and in the April lecture gives an in-depth account of niyamas. Understanding yamas helps the spiritual seeker to better orientate on her path but at the same time this knowledge is so universal that everybody can make use of it to improve their daily life.

Recording of the lecture will be available soon.
